Scale A teacher Y7 and 8 (Sports leader)

Full time, Fixed term.

Maraetai Beach School, located on the sunny Pōhutukawa Coast in East Auckland, is set on the whenua of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki. This is a fantastic opportunity for educators who are passionate about high-quality teaching and learning, fostering strong relationships, and contributing to our school’s vision.

We are seeking a passionate and committed teacher for a Year 7 and 8 class with a passion for PE and Sports. This position is ideal for an experienced teacher with a NZ registration and a current practising certificate is required. 

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and effective learning experiences for students.

• Lead sports events, cluster competitions and organise participation for PE and sports in the Y7-8 - Phase 3 team. 

• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and achievement.

• Build and maintain strong positive relationships with students, whānau, and colleagues.

• Contribute to the school’s professional learning initiatives and curriculum development.

• Uphold and model the school’s values and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Key skills and experience:

• A New Zealand registered teacher with a proven record of effective classroom practice.

• Strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum, particularly at the intermediate level.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and engage with the wider school community.

• Passionate about creating meaningful and culturally responsive learning opportunities for all students.
