Donations and Activity Costs

Maraetai Beach School 2026 School Donation Expenses

Dear Maraetai Beach School Families

As we embark on another exciting academic year at Maraetai Beach School we are reminded of the invaluable partnership between our school and the families we serve. It is through this collaborative effort that we are able to provide an exceptional educational experience for our students, fostering their intellectual growth, personal development and lifelong success.

At Maraetai Beach School we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of excellence in education. This is supported by the commitment of our stable teaching and support teams, the wide range of programmes offered in both the academic and extra-curricular fields, and low class sizes, as recognised in the feedback from our recent community survey.

However, excellence comes with a cost. It is the generous support of our parent community that enables us to enhance the educational experience and provide opportunities that allow us to go beyond the ordinary.

Maraetai Beach School has a low Ministry of Education equity Index (EI) rating. As such, we receive the lowest possible level of funding. The Government currently funds schools (with higher equity index ratings) in lieu of seeking parent donations. Maraetai Beach School does not qualify for this and therefore does rely on donations to ensure the schools’ finances and resources work in the best possible way and we can continue to deliver a high quality education for every child. Your donation forms a vital part of the finance plan, included in our budget and resource allocations for the 2026 school year.

Your donation goes towards (but is not limited to):

  • Funding of additional teaching staff to keep class sizes as small as possible

  • Additional funding of Learning Assistants to support our students

  • Funding for additional support and extension programmes

  • Curriculum resourcing to ensure the best for our students

  • Digital Technology equipment

The Board of Trustees is requesting from all families a donation per child for the 2026 school year.

Below is the donation structure:

• 1 Child: $275

• 2 Children: $495 (total)

• 3+ Children: $605 (total)

Supergenerous

When you make your school donation in myKindo for 2026, you will see the option to opt-in to Supergenerous when you pay.  Kindo and Supergenerous work together to lodge your donation rebate claim with the IRD.  They do all the hard work for you and give you the option to regift your 33% tax rebate to Maraetai Beach School as a new donation.  It’s an awesome way to make your donation go further.  Find out more about Supergenerous.

Activity Cost

In addition to the donations outlined above, we have outlined the Activity costs for the 2026 school year. Costs for these extra-curricular activities are compulsory. Your payment ensures that all students are able to benefit from participating in these special experiences. The activity cost is outlined overleaf and is linked specifically to year group activities.

These costs may be paid for in bulk, or as they occur, depending on your preference using Kindo.

Payment

We have a new Donations feature call “auto pay” feature through your kindo wallet (found on the bottom of the top up wallet list in the app) if you need help please contact helpdesk@kindo.co.nz or Call 0508 4 KINDO (0508 454 636) or you can contact Vannessa via accounts@maraetaibeach.school.nz for further information.

Families can now setup recurring payments directly in Kindo. Making it easier to stay on top of school costs. For you, Autopay will reduce the need for ongoing manual payments into your schools bank account along with continued, consistent cashflow.

As a school, we endeavour to provide an exceptional programme whilst keeping the costs as low as possible.  Donation and Activity Costs have been uploaded onto your Kindo accounts.  If you are as yet to set up an account on Kindo, please go to the Parents tab on our website and select the School Shop. Please ensure that you register with the same email address that we have on record for you at school.

Thank you to those parents who have paid their school costs for the year already.  If you did not receive a tax receipt for your donation and you would like one, please contact accounts@maraetaibeach.school.nz
