Arts
The Arts are an important part of the MBS curriculum. This learning area is made up of Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts.
Visual Arts
Our students explore the world of color, texture, and form through a robust Visual Arts programme:
Classroom Art Activities: Students engage in rich, hands-on learning within the classroom.
Extension Art: We offer a specialised programme designed to challenge and inspire our gifted young artists.
Biennial Art Exhibition: Every second year, we celebrate our students' creativity by transforming the school into a gallery for a community Visual Art Exhibition.
Music & Performing Arts
We provide a variety of platforms for students to find their voice and shine on stage:
School Production: A major highlight of our calendar, held every two years, allowing students to experience the magic of live theatre.
Dance & Drama: Students regularly represent MBS at the Howick and Pakuranga Dance Festival and External Competitions
Lunchtime Groups: Our teachers lead a vibrant range of clubs, including our popular Kapa Haka, Dance Extension, Ukulele group and School choir, which students are encouraged to join.
Itinerant & Private Lessons
To further support individual passions, the following professional lessons are available on-site during the school day:
Music: Instrumental tuition provided by Musiqhub.
Speech & Drama: Performance and communication coaching through Imaginaire Limited.
