Make A Difference In Your Community

If you are interested in being involved in shaping the future of the school for the benefit of the whole community, we’d be very keen to hear from you.  Made up of five elected community members, a staff elected representative and the school Principal, the Board of Trustees provides strategic leadership. It is accountable for the performance of the school with the primary focus being the improvement of student progress and achievement.  We are currently seeking a show of interest from members of our community to take up two vacant roles.

After service of more than seven years our Chairperson Craig Rooks is taking the opportunity to focus on challenges outside of the Board. The school would like to say a huge thank you to Craig for his hard work and dedication. He has effectively led the Board and has always strived to ensure MBS was the best place it could be.  The regular Trustee elections are run on a triennial basis, with the election having been held last year.  Using a selection process provides a way to find a member of the community with the specific skills currently needed and also provides a way for community members to get involved with the Board without the need for a lengthy election process.  The initial term of the role would be until the next election.

Over the next two years we will be focussing on further developing and executing on the school strategic plan. You can read more about our strategic plan on our website.

If you have a strong interest in developing an approach to education that considers the whole child, have an understanding of agile planning and continuous improvement, then please consider this opportunity to become involved.

We are fortunate to have a growing community that is beginning to reflect the rich cultural diversity of the Auckland area.

If you can contribute in one or more of these areas and have an interest in being a part of the Maraetai Beach School Board of Trustees then we’d love to hear from you.  We are holding a coffee morning on Tuesday 24 November at 9am in the staffroom or alternatively contact Principal, Mark Keenan, This email address is being protected from spambots.
